JaneCathryn.com REDESIGN!

Comming soon.....

I'm in the process of finalizing the re-design of www.janecathryn.com,
your site for handcrafted artisan jewelry.

Stay tuned for the launch date!

It's Summer 2009!

Positive, cheerful colors! Symbolic of hope...we all need a little of that from time to time.

Keep a little bold color and bold design in your accessory choices. It might just give you a lift!

Stacked bangles add a bit of flair especially in metals. You can get a lot of mileage out of a collection of great skinny bangles. Create small stacks or really large ones depending on your mood and the occassion. Collect a variety of shades. Copper, silver, gold, bronze, painted metal and mix up your favorite blend.

Chunky chokers that bring the eye up to you! They are fun, light and full of style! Great on a simple white or natural linen dress.

Scarves take a twist into the hair! Twist, wrap and create a whimsical, flirty headband!

Have any stretch beaded chokers? Try that as a hair accessory! Instead of wearing it the traditional way try wraping it around your head for a slightly different look.

Enjoy your summer - shop wisely and be creative!

2009 Pretty Prom..tastic!

Beads - Color - Metallic and Patterned Fabrics reminiscent of the 80's...

There's a land of opportunity to set yourself apart. You can go for color, sparkle and shine or bold prints it's your pick for your special day.

  • Gowns with Empire waist will be in full force and are flattering to almost any shape. Many of the gowns are tastefully done, offering class and style without being over the top. You don't need to bare all - it takes the focus off you the person!
  • I've seen a lot of "Halter" top treatments which are great for warmer weather and provide a nice neckline for either a simple choker or beautiful cascade designed necklace.
  • In choosing your jewelry keep in mind BOLD, unique standout pieces work well with simple lines and less adornment on the DRESS. SIMPLE jewelry is best if your DRESS has a lot going on either in the fabrics print or variety of color.
  • Keep your choice of jewelry in balance with your gown. You don't want your jewelry and dress to be competing with each other or grabbing attention away from the person wearing it!
Look and shop around! Keep your mind open to new ideas - take a peak at stores you might not normally visit -Just have FUN! You may be pleasantly surprised at the treasures found in a thrift shop or at your local flea market. Get creative or grab a creative friend and have her help you coordinate a special look.

Time's a chang'n

With daylight savings around the corner we know that SPRING is just a skip away! Are you ready, are you poised with the tools to be "in style" and on a budget? Who isn't in the mode of being a tad more creative in order to look like a million and not be tempted to blow the bank!

It's a mixed bag of trends out there almost seems a little like anything goes to a certain degree. You have the option of soft feminine flounce to more tailored looks. While color is fun, bold and exciting the ever classic "neutrals" are still well worth the investment. It comes down to your mood and style.

  • Tip- check out sales and see what will translate from fall to spring! Think out of the box and shop places you might not have considered before! There are many treasures to be found.

Accessories are important and can be the one purchase to "switch-up" and make that outfit a "knock-out".

  • Go for CHUNKY, BOLD jewelry that makes a statement. Think of it as a piece of art, an investment in you. Just keep in mind you want to pair this special piece with an outfit that will act as a backdrop and not compete for equal attention.
  • Go for COLOR! If your petite or bold design is not your thing, select a necklace, cuff or earrings in one of the spectacular brights that are out there.
Most of all have fun! Keep within your budget and be creative!!!!
